A new season begins this week at Hogs Head Golf Club offering more than ever before for the senses. It’s a familiar feeling at this time of the year, a certain longing taking shape for new plans and new adventures. As the daylight hours lengthen, minds are drawn to beautiful horizons over Ballinskelligs Bay, rolling that coveted Birdie putt in on the 18th before indulging on some of the delightful fare in McCarthys Bar.
A few short steps will see you land back in your lake view room at the Lodge perched high above the idyllic scene of  Lough Currane. Those spectacular views can also be enjoyed whilst immersed in the 98F (37C) heated waters of our Infinity Pools at Gail’s Spa. Finishing the day with a sumptuous Dinner at the Lough Currane Bar & Restaurant is the perfect tonic to cap a great experience amongst friends and family.

To bring you closer to these senses we have created ‘The Hog Times’, a digital magazine which we will be sharing with you a number of times during the year to keep you updated on all the exciting happenings at Hogs Head Golf Club.

Dear Hogs Head Family, 

The Summer rays of sunshine have finally landed in Waterville this week resulting in beautiful horizons over Ballinskelligs Bay and the floral colours popping around the Lodge and Golf Course to the delight of all our Hogs and guests.

The team here are eagerly looking forward to the beginning of the Bean an Ti and Bohemian Tournaments starting this coming Sunday. The long hours of daylight continue to stretch until 10 pm allowing plenty of scope for an extra round on the course or with our dear friends in Waterville Golf Links - Its truly a wonderful time to visit the South West of Ireland.
Our themed Traditional Irish evening's on Monday nights in McCarthy's Bar are proving very popular this year.  To savour more of the delights on offer here we would like to share with you the second edition of  'The Hog Times', our digital magazine. Featuring in this issue are some more insightful golfing tips from Brady Sherwood our Director of Golf, the calendar schedule for our 2025 Tournaments and we also continue to showcase some amazing local talent, local producers and some wonderful activities and excursions that we personally recommend.

Dear Hogs Head family,

The past few weeks in Ireland has seen a return to more traditional and typical weather patterns after a beautiful beginning where we experienced 3 weeks of glorious sunshine and endless blue skies from our opening in May. The course has greened up impressively again since May and is in great shape for favorable scoring over the coming weeks.  As the year continues to fly by, it is hard to believe that the first week of July lies just around the corner. We are eagerly looking forward to our back to back tournaments - The Bean an Ti and Bohemian taking place in Mid-July which promise a fantastic celebration of golf, camaraderie, and most importantly fun!
 
Father and Son Tournament
On the back of the recent Father and Son Tournament I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the 2025 event, John and John Jnr Suckow who once again reigned supreme during a very exciting shootout on the 18th hole. The Suckow’s previously won this event in 2023 and following their recent success have been justifiably installed as hot favourites for the 2026 tournament. Outside of tournament play we have noticed that demand is high for lodging and we would encourage all our Hogs to start planning ahead for our 2026 season so as to ensure availability for your desired dates of stay and play.

Ryder Cup 2027 Experience – Adare Manor
As we look ahead to the Ryder Cup in September 2027 which is taking place in the beautiful Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, we would love to hear your thoughts on options for that week to include Lodging, Golf, and Private Suite tickets. The Private Suite tickets will be centrally located on an exclusive Grandstand on the 14th hole at Adare Manor during that very exciting showcase for Golf. Reservations here at Hogs Head Golf Club will open in September 2025 for this event.
